Uhh, A Predictable Story
So I skipped the Pasha training in the morning and just watched. And played some keepie uppie. Only.
Then was the much waited game organized by Yasin. Where I was given a starting 11 position, with number 8. A number I wouldn’t have ever worn if I didn’t have to.
The game starts: Uzun Yusuf Spor vs. Merkezefendi.
Everything started very violent as the opposition was literally playing to kill. I sustained two injuries just in the first 10 minutes. And even though I was a Right Midfielder, I had to run the WHOLE big field to go back and forth. Why? because our beloved Right Back couldn’t fill the hole by himself.
Anyways, after our team scored an offside goal, missed a great free kick through someone who shouldn’t have taken it and also a great opportunity in front of the goal that I couldn’t control, the first half finished 0-0.
Even though I saved 7 goals at least in the first half, I was so disappointed with the fact that I couldn’t help with the attack and was expecting to be substituted. But wasn’t. Yasin made some other changes though. and then when the second half started, there came the real nightmare: 1-0 in the first 10-20 seconds of the second half. Then the team struggled to make chances and five minutes late there was another goal for Merkezefendi. 2-0. That was when they changed their team and made their subs. The game was average and everything looked the same but when the keeper and defenders of the opposition made a big mistake, it was when Cihan managed to have a shot at a half-empty goal. 2-1. It was around 75th minute that I was substituted. Looked like Yasin didn’t appreciate my ‘filling-the-hole’ and running the whole field thing. And just as I was substituted the team conceded a goal from my position. 3-1. And 5 minutes later: 4-1. I guess I was doing SOMETHING after all. Keeping the score in reach for instance.
Anyways, in the end many players were injured including: Kenan, me, Ömer and Doğan.
And despite my average performance, everybody would remember that game by the game I “missed a great opportunity”. Well, next time I wouldn’t try and save the team’s backside and would just stay and wait for the ball like everybody else… Or WAIT, isn’t that why we lost?
Either way this game was going to be my reference, now it looks nothing like my real play and not even my own position. Well, that was a waste.
